Pregnancy #2

This week marks the 18th week of pregnancy number 2!  Thursday we are scheduled for the big ultrasound where hopefully baby will reveal it's gender.  Yes I am excited to find out whether Hudson will have a little brother or sister but more so I just need to see the baby and know that everything is going ok.

I have noticed with this pregnancy I am more relaxed and just going with the flow of things.  With Hudson, being pregnant for the first time and not knowing what to expect, I was a bit of an emotional roller coaster especially that first trimester.  I had issues with nausea and vomiting until week 14.  I also had a hard time with the weight gain and clothes not fitting.  Things got better as my pregnancy progressed and I could start to feel Hudson move but I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I should have.  I was definitely in a hurry for it to be over and to meet baby boy.

With this pregnancy, I have been taking everything in stride.  I think too with having a active toddler at home, I don't really have a lot of time to think about my pregnancy and the side effects, i.e. nausea, heartburn, etc.  The only time I can really stop and think about it, is at night when I am lying in bed but the last week I lay there and enjoy feeling baby move.  I'm also not in a rush for the pregnancy to fly by.  Yes I am excited to meet baby #2 but right now I am enjoying my time as a family of 3 and watching Hudson grow.  I am sure come July I will be more than ready to be done being pregnant but right now I am taking each day at a time.

So far the votes are pretty evenly split on whether we are having a girl or a boy.  Hopefully we will have that answer on Thursday but we may keep it to ourselves, at least until after we share the news with our families :)

Hudson's BIG announcement!

We found out at the end of November that I was pregnant :)  I have to laugh as I took three tests before I actually believed it myself.  To share the news with Justin, I ordered a cake from our local bakery.  We celebrated the exciting news on Tuesday November 27th :)

Friday December 14th we shared the news with my family.  I signed the cards for Torey and my mom from Hudson with Love, Hudson & Baby.  Of course my mom waited for Torey to open his card first, he read it, looked at me, then started laughing.  So then he read it out loud and my mom looked at me, "You're pregnant?"  They were all excited about it.

To share the news with Justin's family we had them over on Sunday December 23rd to celebrate our Christmas together.  We put Hudson in his "Best Big Bro" shirt and waited to see how long it took them to notice.  After awhile we finally had to tell his mom to read the shirt :)

Monday January 7th, 2013 was my first OB appointment.  Justin & Hudson came along and we were able to see baby #2 on the ultrasound, measuring at 10 weeks 2 days :)  Baby was kicking his/her legs and moving his/her arms.  Yes I did get an exact due date but we are just telling everyone the beginning of August ;)

We will be finding out the gender of this one as I need to plan accordingly (Type A personality) :)  Justin thinks it's a girl as I have been having nausea all day, every day since the beginning of December.  I have had no food cravings, most of the time I don't want to eat anything, I just have to make myself.  I also started showing at 10 weeks!!!

Hopefully we will know whether Hudson is going to have a little brother or sister on March 7, 2013, so make your guesses now!

Proud big brother :)

Children's museum playdate

Friday Hudson & I met up with Lorrie & Ethan for a playdate at the Children's Museum.  It was fairly busy but that didn't stop the boys from having fun :)  I tried to get a couple pictures of them but those two would not stop moving......

Checking out the Dora & Diego exhibit (sorry a bit blurry, he was on the move!)

Making eggs for mama :)

Building with blocks

Our favorite area, the water stations :)

Such a fun morning we had!  Looking forward to another trip hopefully next month :)

Playdate with Papa!

My dad has every other Friday off of work, so Friday January 18th Hudson & I picked Papa up and headed over to the MN Zoo!  I am glad we go there early as we were able to see all of the indoor exhibits before the school groups arrived.

First stop was the Monkey's but since it was a little cold, there were none to be seen outside :(  So we moved on to the penguins where of course my child notices the one penguin that goes #2 and he needs to shout it to me across the exhibit.....  Since we were still bundled up from outside, we decided to check out the MN trail where we were able to see the otters, wolverines, puma, and bald eagle.

After that we headed to the tropics trail to warm up a bit :)

From there we made our way over to Discovery bay to check out the fish.  Hudson's favorite is always the tide pool and waiting for the waves to come in :)  This boy could stand here for hours.

Since it was a bit frigid that day, we were not to keen on walking outside to see the animals so we took the easy way out and went on a monorail ride.  This was Hudson's first time on the "choo choo"

By the time we got done it was about 11AM and baby boy was ready for some lunch.  Instead of eating at the Zoo, we headed over to Panino Brothers in Apple Valley as Papa had never been there before.

Seseame street live!

Friday January 11th was my first official Friday off :)  The week before I had been watching the news and there was a commercial for Sesame Street Live, in town January 10th-13th.  I was not too sure about whether or not Hudson would like it but I decided to buy tickets for the Friday morning show.  So glad I did!

Of course we had to make a stop at Caribou on our way downtown for a little snack :)

We arrived about 45 minutes before the show was to start as they had a playzone for kids to run around in.  Well I think Hudson was a bit overwhelmed with all of the kids so we decided to head upstairs and walk around the concourse a bit before the show started.  After buying a bottle of water for $4, tub of popcorn for $5, and a little Elmo stuffed animal for $15 we were finally able to go sit in our seats.....

Hudson loved the show as there was a lot of singing and dancing :)  Everytime Elmo left the stage he asked me "where elmo go?".

After about 45 minutes they had a 15 minute intermission.  Unfortunately he was getting tired and needed to eat some lunch so we decided to go.  We were able to stop at playzone on our way out and snap a couple pictures :)

This picture makes me laugh, Hudson pushed that red button and Ernie started to talk to him, freaked baby boy out.  This is him running back to mama :)

Overall it was a fun morning and I would definitely take him again.  I think next time though I will check and see if we could bring our own lunch so we could stay for the whole show.

Christmas morning

Christmas morning was spent at home with just the 3 of us (+ Jasper).  After breakfast Hudson was all about opening his presents.

Starting to get tired :)

Loving his train table.

It was a great morning and so much fun watching Hudson open all of his gifts.  He was definitely spoiled this year, new books, DVD's, sing-a-long radio, puzzles, and of course the train table.

Christmas Celebration #2

Christmas afternoon my family came over to hang out and have dinner.  Since we are getting older (sad), my siblings and I decided to skip the presents for each other and instead focus on our parents and Hudson.  Once again, baby boy was spoiled!!!  From my older brother Torey, he received a 4 wheeler (let's just say mama was not too excited about it.....)  Of course Hudson had to help put it together but once it was together, he was not too sure about it.  Instead he had mama drive it......

(making the point that we HAVE to wear our helmet on the 4-wheeler)

Hopefully by spring time he will be more comfortable driving it so we can take it out in our backyard.

From Tonia he received an whiteboard/magnadoodle easel.  We have made a couple lovey pictures with it :)

Please note Tonia's artistic wrapping job :)

From Uncle Troy he received a car that makes lots of noise and will go by itself.

Finally, from nana & papa he received every single Thomas the Train choo-choo for his new train table, Thomas pajamas, plate set, etc :)  Most of his presents he ripped of the wrapping paper and moved on to the next one.  This present he had to check out every single train and then have it opened.  He loves his choo-choo's :)

Overall it was a great holiday spent with family.
