Sleepy baby boy

I love checking on Hudson at night and seeing him sleeping so peacefully.  It is also fun to see how he is sleeping exactly as that kid moves like crazy at night.  I am not sure how we are going to be able to move him into a regular bed as I feel like he will be falling off all the time.....

(Notice the little foot sticking out.....)

So sweet :)

The next morning

Not ready to wake up yet....

Snuggling with Elmo and watching the Disney Channel

Helicopter Ride

Last weekend we had a family picnic with my dad's side of the family at his cousin Tommy's place in Webster.  He lives right on the airstrip and just so happens to own a helicopter :)  He was nice enough to give any of us who would to go a ride!  Hudson loved watching the helicopter take off and land but he was hesitant about getting too close to it due to the noise.  Finally with a little coaxing, we were able to convince him to take a ride :)

Walking out to the helicopter, little nervous about it.....

Thinking he wants to go back into the garage

Here we go.....

Checking out the scenery

Getting ready to land

We made it!

Such a great experience and a beautiful view!

Bowling!

Saturday night we headed over to Northfield to celebrate Miss Josie's 3rd birthday!  For her birthday we went bowling, a first time experience for Hudson & he loved it!

Trying to figure out what is going on....

Josie's turn first (Ella & Brenda helping)

Like this mama?  He picked out the orange ball

Pretty good scores for all three of them ;)

Children's Museum & Mickey's Diner

Hudson and I had a busy weekend!  We started out with a trip to the St. Paul Children's museum with Lorrie and Ethan.

Driving to the museum, they look so excited ;)

Checking out the first exhibit

This was Hudson's favorite room, Ethan preferred the bus

So focused

Finished product, before a bigger kid came & knocked it over :(

Doing a little grocery shopping

Lots of fruits & vegetables!

Putting the pig in his pen

Playing in the water

Exploring the Ant tunnels

From there we headed across the street for some lunch at Mickey's Diner!  It was a first time experience for all four of us :)  Of course we had to get a pic outside the diner, which took a couple tries.

After lunch we headed home as it was past naptime for both boys.  We definitely thought they would pass out right away on the drive home, not so much.  They took turns growling at each other and being silly until we got to my parents house.

Once we separated them, they both fell asleep within minutes on our drives home.  Such a fun day!  We loved it so much that we ended up buying a membership for the year.  It will be perfect for winter here in MN, easy way to let baby boy burn some energy while staying warm :)

Defeat of Jesse James Day Parade

The weekend after labor day is the Defeat of Jesse James Day festival in Northfield.  Events start on Thursday and go through the weekend, people come from all over to check out the crafts. rides, food, re-enactments, rodeo, and the big parade!  This year the weather was perfect for the parade on Sunday afternoon.  Luckily my aunt puts out blankets the night before, so we always have a good spot with plenty of space.  The last couple years it has been my aunt & uncle (Dave & Brenda), cousin Seth & his girlfriend Brya, Porter family, and the grandmas :)  This year Hudson & I invited Ethan (Lorrie) and Karlee (Heather) to join us and Porter's good friends Chris & Jenny came with their two daughters.

Waiting for the parade to start

Dancing to the music

Waiting for more candy

He wasn't sure what to do at first with the candy but then we figured it out....

Full bag of candy

This is definitely one of our favorite parades.  It lasts almost two hours but the kids are entertained the whole time between the horses, music, tractor's, and of course they throw tons of candy.  Plus it ends with a semi-truck coming through and they dump buckets of candy in front of the kids.  Thinking next year we may need to go check out the rodeo on Saturday night along with the parade Sunday :)
