Flying a kite!

A favorite fall activity as a kid would definitely have to be flying a kite.  I remember growing up, my parents would buy us kites, usually for Easter.  This year Hudson received a Minion kite from Nana and Papa.  Unfortunately, there was no wind on Easter to fly it but this past weekend was perfect for some kite flying!

Such a fun afternoon!  I loved seeing Hudson's reaction and how excited he was :)

Easter 2014

We started out our Easter weekend by coloring some eggs on Friday afternoon.  Hudson was very excited about coloring eggs and was constantly checking them to see if they were colored yet.

Sunday morning after breakfast we had a little Easter egg hunt in the house.  Of course Hudson spotted some of the eggs as soon as he woke up :)

Our hunt ended in his bedroom where the Easter bunny left him a basket full of goodies!  As usual he wouldn't sit still long enough for me to get a picture of him with his basket....

So excited about our Lego fire truck!

Miss Mila also received a basket from the Easter bunny and luckily she cooperated for a picture :)

After our Easter egg hunt we headed to church for a great service.  Then we were able to enjoy the beautiful weather with a run around Lake Nokomis.  From there we headed to my parents for some more egg coloring, another Easter egg hunt, and a delicious ham dinner.  Hope you all had a great Easter!

8 months!

March 29th marked Mila's 8 month birthday!  I can't believe my baby girl is going to be 1 in four months!

What Mila has been up to this last month.....

1.  Sleep, what is sleep?!?!  Her night schedule is very sporadic.  On average she has been waking up about 4 times a night.  Recently we just had a stretch where she was waking up every hour to two hours, exhausting!  Not sure if it was from teething, developmental milestones or what.  The last few nights she was doing great, waking up only once or twice but then last night it was back to 4 times :(

2.  She loves to eat!  So far we are eating sweet potatoes, squash, pears, and bits of banana.  Today we tried some peaches for the first time.

3.  Teeth, we are now up to five with a sixth one working it's way through.  So far we have two on the bottom and three on top

4.  Still not crawling but she makes her way around with rolling and wiggling :)  Lately she has been very interested in standing with support.

Everyday she is learning something new :)  Love watching her accomplish all of these milestones!  Looking forward to seeing what the next month will bring!

More from Florida

Here are some more pictures from our fabulous vacation in Florida!

Another perfect vacation to Tampa!  Looking forward to our next trip South :)

Legoland

Hudson has become obsessed with Lego's lately!  His obsession began when his Uncle Troy bought him a construction lego set at Christmas.  Since we were headed to Florida, we figured it would be a perfect time to take him to Legoland!  Little man was in heaven :)

 Here starts his adventure!

Mila ready to see what this park has to offer :)

Shortly after entering the park you come upon Lego Miniland.  It is entire cities built out of legos, such as Las Vegas, Washington D.C., San Francisco, New York, etc.  This was definitely one of Hudson's favorite parts of the day.

They had rides for both big and small.  Hudson was able to drive a boat, go on a safari trek, and of course ride a mini roller coaster!

Such a fun day we had!  Legoland was perfect for Hudson's age and he definitely enjoyed everything about it.  Of course, no trip was complete without purchasing a few lego sets :)

Sand & Sunshine!

This winter has gone on far too long here in MN!  Between all of the snow and temperatures constantly in the negatives, everyone is going stir crazy.  Lucky for us, we were able to head to Tampa March 4th for a week long vacation of sunshine and warmth :)

Once again my mom flew with myself and the kids which was a huge help.  Both Hudson & Mila did great on our flight out there.  Right away Hudson got in his seat, buckled his seatbelt, and he was ready to go!

Mila trying to figure out what is going on.....

We lucked out with a great weather, allowing us to visit the beach three days to have some fun in the sand!

Hudson had a blast playing in the sand & water!  He was a little overly confident about going in the ocean, which made for a nervous mom :)

Feeling the sand & water, little chilly!

We also lucked out and were able to attend a MN Twin's baseball game against the Toronto BlueJays

Of course no trip is complete without a dinner overlooking the ocean and watching the sunset!
